A contemporary art museum with galleries inside one monolithic concrete mass. A single huge entrance void and a stepped forecourt.
From outside the museum is a single concrete mass with almost no windows. Light enters the galleries only through thin slots in the roof; each room’s light shifts slowly through the day.
The 60-centimetre walls are both structure and thermal store; the museum saves half its climate-control energy through this mass.
